FindADoula.org (the “Platform”) is operated by Henry Goodlock, trading as Find a Doula, Butterrow Hill, Stroud, GL5 2LG, United Kingdom (“Find a Doula,” “we,” “us” or “our”). These Terms apply to visitors, account holders, listed doulas and listed organizations.
The Platform helps people in the United States discover and contact independent end-of-life doulas, practitioners, training providers and organizations. We provide directory, profile, discovery and, where expressly shown, verification tools. We do not provide end-of-life doula or healthcare services, employ or supervise listed members, make referrals, or become a party to any agreement between a visitor and a member.
End-of-life doulas provide non-medical support. Nothing on the Platform is medical, legal, financial, mental-health or emergency advice. Call 911 in an emergency and consult an appropriately licensed professional when professional advice or treatment is needed.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these Terms. Information you provide must be accurate and current. Keep account credentials confidential and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
Members are solely responsible for their profiles, claims, services, fees, taxes, insurance, client agreements and compliance with federal, state and local requirements. A member must not imply that non-medical doula training is a government license or that Find a Doula employs, certifies or endorses them.
Content must not be false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, infringing or unsafe. We may edit formatting, request evidence, restrict visibility, suspend or remove a profile where information is misleading, these Terms are breached, safety is at risk or law requires it.
A verification indicator confirms only the particular training, membership or other fact identified on the profile at the time it was checked. It is not a background check, professional license, endorsement, guarantee of competence or guarantee of suitability. Visitors remain responsible for asking questions, checking references and insurance where relevant, and verifying professional licenses with the appropriate state authority.
Eligible training records may be checked through an appropriate verification process. Training providers and Find a Doula remain independent.
You choose whether to contact or engage a member and agree terms directly with them. Do not rely on a profile as a substitute for your own checks. Avoid sending medical records, financial information or other highly sensitive information through an initial inquiry. Find a Doula is not responsible for services arranged with a member.
Paid memberships are directory subscriptions charged in US dollars through Stripe. Before purchase, checkout displays the price, billing interval and material terms. By completing checkout, you expressly authorize the disclosed recurring charge until cancellation. Applicable taxes may be added where required.
You can cancel through your account using the online cancellation option. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. We do not charge a separate cancellation fee. See the Refunds and Cancellations Policy for details. We may change future prices after reasonable advance notice; a changed price applies no earlier than a future renewal.
Members retain ownership of their original content. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, format, display, reproduce and promote it for operating and marketing the Platform. This license ends when the content is removed, except for reasonable backups, legal records and material already shared with your authorization.
The Platform’s design, branding, original copy, compilation and verification outputs are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Public access does not authorize bulk scraping, creation of a competing directory, circumvention of technical controls or misleading reuse of verification information. Lawful indexing and linking are permitted.
Members, training providers, payment processors and linked websites operate independently. Their inclusion does not create an endorsement or make us responsible for their services, policies or conduct. Stripe processes payment-card information under its own terms and privacy practices.
We may change features, perform maintenance or suspend access for security, moderation, legal or operational reasons. We may restrict or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or creates a credible risk. Where practical, members may export their own profile information before closure.
The Platform is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for member conduct, services, profile inaccuracies, indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, opportunity, reputation or data. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
If you use the Platform as a member or organization, you agree to reimburse reasonable losses and costs arising from your unlawful content, your services or a material breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law. This does not apply to ordinary visitors acting as consumers.
We handle personal information as described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Find a Doula is established in the United Kingdom, so UK data-protection law applies to our processing; additional US state privacy requirements apply where their scope and thresholds are met.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this clause does not remove mandatory rights or remedies available under the law that applies where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated reasonably in advance where practical. Continued use after the effective date means the updated Terms apply; changes requiring fresh consent will not apply without it.
